Medina Goodman
Rosebud Nursery Lead Teacher
Medina is originally from The Gambia in West Africa and received her BSc Honors in Software Engineering from the University of East London.
She began her career in resource management in Spain before setting up and successfully managing her own company until her move to the United States. As a member of the Focus on Children Committee in the Venice Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles, she contributed to developing future initiatives and discussion topics on how to improve the lives of children. This experience sparked her interest in child development, with an emphasis on the “Developing Mind and Language.”
During this time, she became a member of the RIE community in Santa Monica, where she attended parent and baby classes before joining the Waldorf community. Her daughter spent her preschool year at the East Bay Waldorf School before joining Berkeley Rose, where Medina became both a Waldorf parent and, later, a member of the community of educators in Early Childhood as a substitute teacher.
Medina enjoys sewing, mending, handcrafting, and making all kinds of things. Her interests include travel, art, reading, cooking, and participating in various sports, from running to kickboxing. She also loves exploring the outdoors, hiking, and embracing the beauty of the natural world. She can usually be found with a smile on her face, delighting in the joy of the children she supports in her work and life.
