Jahlia Osha

Sunflower Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Jahlia attended Waldorf schools from preschool through high school, graduating from Summerfield Waldorf High School and Farm in Sonoma County. Both of her parents are retired Waldorf teachers—her mother in early childhood and her father in Grades and Spatial Dynamics.

Jahlia earned a BA from Pitzer College in Southern California, where she studied documentary film and feminist theory. She went on to earn a master’s degree in gender and social policy from the London School of Economics. She lived in the UK for 11 years, working as a film producer for environmental campaigns and gender and social justice issues.

Upon having children, she returned to her roots and completed Waldorf teacher training at Steiner House, London, and Hawkwood College, UK. She has been part of the BRWS community as both a parent and teacher since 2015 and has taught nursery, parent-child, kindergarten, and forest classes.

She lives with her husband and two children in North Oakland.
