After School Program

Berkeley Rose offers an After School Program* for children 3 years old through grade 5 until 5:30pm Monday-Friday. In order for your child to take part in this program, they must be enrolled via BigSis. You can also sign-up Kindergarten or Grades children on the day, if there is space available. Please note that these programs are contingent upon ample enrollment and incur a separate fee, as detailed below.

Nursery – You can pick up your child from the Nursery After School Program at a predetermined hour after rest time, which ends at 2:30pm.

Kindergarten – Pick up times for the Kindergarten program are set. You may pick up your child at 3pm, 4pm or 5:30pm

Grades – Grades students can be picked up any time from 3-5:30pm.

* Due to staffing shortages the Afternoon Program may need to finish earlier than times posted.

After School Program Fees

Subscription Pricing

After School Program tuition is charged as a month-to-month subscription, calculated as a 25% surcharge (nursery and kindergarten), or an 18% surcharge (grade school), based on actual tuition paid for regular school time. Available start or end times: the beginning or end of each calendar month. At standard rates, the surcharge comes out to approximately $400 per month (give or take $50, depending on a child’s main program). This translates to an average $24 per day, or $5-$10 per hour. Recipients of tuition assistance will have their After School tuition reduced accordingly.

  • The ten payment months run from September through June and will be paid directly through FACTS.

  • The subscription pricing is independent of actual usage, or of individual pick-up times, and does not vary for longer or shorter months (i.e. for months with more or fewer school days).

  • There will be the same flat charge for each subscribed calendar month.

Drop-in Pricing

Joining the After School Program on a daily basis is possible, if requested by 10 am, but is subject to availability, and costs $18 per hour, or any portion thereof (non prorated) and will be billed through BigSis.

  • Regular usage on selected weekdays can be scheduled in advance on a month-to-month basis, and will be charged at the daily drop-in rate.

  • You may set up your initial schedule by going to the ‘After School | Camp’ tab on BigSis starting from the last week of August or updating throughout the school year as it applies to your child.

  • There is no After School drop-in available for nursery children.

If you need an arrangement – not covered by the above scenarios – that may warrant a custom quote (for example: paying a lump sum for a full year of aftercare), please contact us.

Enrichment programs for Grades (subject to availability):

Our Extended Day Program offers an engaging environment that often includes specialty classes and activities that might include: handwork, chess and math clubs, chamber orchestra, choir, dance, games, cooking and hiking. These programs may come with an additional surcharge.
